Was closed twice today at dartfod crossing within hours for different incidents, still fucked

Isn't there a part of what is now the M25 that was once the world's longest hard-shouldered, six-lane B-road?

Orlando was very bad a few years back. There were a lot of roadworks (it was when Downtown Disney was being converted), and the roads were jammed every day.
Unusual, but then again their roads are a lot younger than ours.

Anyone watch that series on the British motorway system?
I only caught the M1 one.
a) in a somehow typically British fashion, the M1 wasn't the first British motorway;
Isn't the road system numbered based on direction. The M1 goes north and all A roads clockwise to the M2 essentially start with the number 1. Most of the A roads from the M2 to M3 start with 2 and so on.
The M2 goes east, M3 (South) West and M4 West.
I'll grab my anorak...

What makes me laugh is no matter where I go on holiday (usually the US) we never see a traffic jam (ok unless it's downtown LA).... even latest visit to Normandy a few weeks ago... sometimes we barely saw another car... but get to Dover... BOSHHHHHHH... and get off the plane at Heathrow and get on that M25.... BOSHHHHHHHH again... fucking idiot country for driving for sure....

I only caught the M1 one.
a) in a somehow typically British fashion, the M1 wasn't the first British motorway;
b) instead of opening it at one end or the other, they opened near, but not at, the then end farthest from London;
c) there were no speed limits, so the official Rolls Royce carrying the people opening it, tore up from London so fast that even RR engineering couldn't cope, and it overheated, and they were late;
d) the people who designed the road signs, who got awards for their work, also came up from London, but misread their own signs and went past the exit they meant to take, and they were also late. TBF, the current signs are almost the same as the ones they designed.
